SRA to offer guidance on Referral Fee ban

Whilst the SRA is still refusing to provide “safe harbour” advice on what will be compliant practice post April, they have this week announced that they will publish genuine case studies of acceptable models.

The SRA had received 49 responses to their consultation on the implementation of the Referral Fee Ban which is set to come in on 1st April – and a number of those respondents were seeking pre-approval for their arrangements which the SRA won’t provide.

Definitions of “prohibited referrals” and “payments” will – it appears be added to the SRA Handbook.
